Kakobuy spreadsheet not working? Nine causes, in the order to check them

Dead links, empty tabs, a sheet that will not load on mobile, a price that does not match. Most failures have one of nine causes, and eight of them are fixable in a minute.

  • The listing was removed. Sellers delete and relist constantly. Search the SPU number, not the title — the number survives a rename.
  • The seller changed platforms. A Weidian item relisted on Taobao will 404 on the old URL. Paste the title into the agent search box.
  • The sheet is old. If a spreadsheet has no review date, assume a third of its rows are dead. That is the normal decay rate for an unmaintained list.

The sheet will not load

  • Mobile + 40 tabs. Google Sheets on a phone struggles past a handful of tabs. Open it on desktop, or use a site that renders rows as pages.
  • Too many concurrent editors. Public sheets throttle. Try an incognito window.
  • Region blocks. Some corporate and school networks block docs.google.com. Try mobile data.

The price does not match

A sheet shows a snapshot; the product page shows today. Three things move: the seller’s CNY price, the platform’s conversion spread, and the option you selected (the cheapest option is rarely the one you want). Compare the CNY figure, not the USD one — the USD number is derived.

The order will not go through

  • Out of stock variant. The row exists, the size does not.
  • Restricted category. Batteries, liquids and some brands cannot use standard lines.
  • Address or payment mismatch. The agent’s checkout is stricter than a normal shop’s.
  • Agent-side maintenance. If the whole platform is down, waiting beats retrying; check the status page before assuming your account is broken.

Questions

Why do so many rows die?

Because sellers delist and relist constantly, and because most spreadsheet authors never revisit the rows they added. Maintenance is the entire difference between a list and an index.

Can I still order from a dead link?

Sometimes: search the SPU or the exact title in the agent search box. If the seller removed the item permanently, no amount of searching will bring it back.

What should I do when a whole sheet is unmaintained?

Use it as a research starting point, not as a shopping list. Take the SPU numbers you like and look them up in a catalogue that retires dead rows.

Practical next step: open the index and run the check on a real row.
